Rebecca, founder of DistrActors, talks about the importance of distraction and joy in her own personal experience with Cystic Fibrosis

Our Mission

The DistrActors is a group of professional actors on call for hospital boredom emergencies. We utilize storytelling, songs, puppetry, and improvisation to bring joy and emotional healing, and to give children the creative tools to reframe their fight.

Funded by grants and private donations, there is no cost to the patients we serve.

  Our Reach

Our Team

  • Rebecca Duckworth

Pun master, attempter of many instruments and loser of rap battles, Rebecca is always looking for the fun in any situation. A Cystic Fibrosis patient herself, she’s had lots of experience finding something fun to do while waiting around in a doctor’s office.

  • Bobby Shook

Wearer of mischievous eye twinkles and grower of epic beards, Bobby is an actor, animator, editor, and all around renaissance man. He loves Marvel, Star Wars, coffee, and the DistrActor to his left (his wife, Rebecca).

  • Danny Jordan

A silly, and energetic performer who is quick to do animal noises, bad accents, and silly dances. Danny has an encyclopedic knowledge of movies, music, and sports which makes it hard for him to not constantly make esoteric references. He also can’t help his love for cereal and wonders if that is stunting his growth.

  • Dani Letsche

With a flare for the silly and whimsical, Dani is in fact a cartoon character trapped inside a human's body. She loves acting, running and breaking it down on the dance floor. She dreams she'll one day be able to do a backflip.
